As a professional online shopper and lifestyle editor (yes, I love my job), as well as a lifelong New Yorker with a mother who used to work in fashion, I can definitively say that I am great at shopping.
While I told myself I wasn’t going to shop much this season in an effort to contribute a little more to my 401(k), as soon as the weather hit 60 in New York, I knew that goal was toast. There’s just something about sunshine on the skin and switching my hot lattes over to iced coffees that makes me want to refresh my entire wardrobe, home and bathroom cabinet.
Currently, I have approximately 928 items in my Nordstrom cart, from investment cookware to new fashion drops and “It Girl” fragrances. Below, shop the 14 best editor-approved items from Nordstrom that I’m buying in April.
In the word of everyone who wears clothes, it is believed that Kimberly Noel Kardashian has made the most comfortable and well-fitting bodysuit of all time. Plus, there’s no better summer basic than a sleeveless bodysuit — and this khaki green color is so on-trend right now.
Every time I see this Charlotte Tilbury blush wand swipe across the cheeks of a beauty influencer on TikTok, I die a little bit inside because I’m not the one doing the swiping. Obviously it’s time to add it to my cart and live my most flush, most glam life.
3. Lisa Says Gah Denim Tote, $21 (Orig. $35)
Ever since I first saw this tiny tote bag, I have not been able to stop thinking about it. No lie, it’s haunted my dreams in the best way — I truly cannot wait to prance around with it all spring and summer (and fall and winter and everything in between).
Everyone has a staple beauty item that they never stray from, no matter what new and exciting product comes out. For me, that’s the NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil in the shade “Cruella” — aka the perfect wearable, long-lasting red lip. It’s been a mainstay for me since my high school days, and it’s time to restock!
5. Maison Margiela Replica Bubble Bath Fragrance, $76 – $144
A couple of weeks ago, I decided it was time to become a perfume person, considering my scents had consisted of rollerballs grabbed in the checkout line at Sephora. If you’ve spent any time on TikTok in the past year, you’ve probably seen Replica’s “Bubble Bath” perfume — which has gone viral as the fresh “clean girl” scent of 2022. Considering I wash my hair maybe once a week (thick curly hair FTW), I am enthusiastically purchasing.
Yes, the above perfume also comes in scented candle form. Yes, I am also buying this because I have no self-control, and I love bougie candles.
A rainbow sprinkle-themed silicone ice cube tray is something I never knew I needed until I saw it. Oh, boy, do we all need it for a little burst of joy in our lives.
9. Nike Daybreak Sneaker, $90
I’m the first to admit that my white sneaker collection has gotten out of hand. So to add a little bit of color to my collection, I’m taking advantage of this pastel pair of Nike Daybreaks. How sweet and cute is the combo?
10. Reformation Vera Linen Miniskirt, $128
In terms of 2000s trends coming back into style, I would rather eat raw chicken than wear low-rise jeans again. However, miniskirts are something I can get behind. This Reformation checked miniskirt can be dressed up or down.
12. BP. Loaf Canvas Pouch, $6 – $12 (Orig. $12)
Clearly I have a thing for the color green. But I actually do need this canvas pouch since my gel liner exploded all over my old one. Sad.
Madewell jeans are superior to all other jeans. I know I’m just going to live in these high-waisted wide-leg jeans for the rest of my life.
14. Supergoop! Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 Sunscreen, $18.70 – $49.30 (Orig. $22 – $58)
‘Tis the time of year to stock up on actual jugs of sunscreen! The beloved Supergoop! Play sunscreen comes in three different sizes — two of them completely normal and acceptable. Meanwhile, my pasty self is investing in the 18-ounce pump jug to slather all over my body. Safety first!
