RUMFORD — A dozen females Wednesday participated in the 29th annual Nationwide Senior Wellness & Conditioning Day, the nation’s greatest older adult health and fitness and wellness party.
The women of all ages did a a person-mile walk at the Hosmer Intricate, signing up for much more than 100,000 predicted to participate at 1,000-moreover locations throughout the state, according to the Countrywide Senior Health and fitness & Fitness Working day web site.
Mitzi Sequoia of Rumford said she tried for two several years to hold the party but was prohibited by the pandemic.
It was sponsored by the River Valley Wholesome Communities Coalition and Maine West, a partnership of nearby and regional organizations working across the economic, training, health and conservation sectors to posture rural western Maine communities as viable and interesting spots to reside, get the job done, do company and elevate households.
Sequoia said Wednesday’s wander was the kickoff for this year’s Wellness Walks for those 50 and older at the Hosmer Industry keep track of. The two six-7 days periods are Wednesdays at 5 p.m. June 1 to July 6 and Sept. 7 to Oct. 12.
