ARE POTATO WEDGES HEALTHIER THAN FRIES?
When you make them in the air fryer, the answer is an absolute yes! Air fried potato wedges give you the same vibe as french fries but without actually frying them.
But if you make your own french fries in the air fryer, you can get the same effect so it all depends on how you cook them!
WHAT KIND OF POTATOES SHOULD I USE FOR WEDGES?
The best potatoes to use for making potato wedges are russet potatoes.
These potatoes can be found at most grocery stores and provide the best flavor and texture when air-fried. They also cook up the fastest!
HOW DO YOU MAKE POTATO WEDGES?
Use a large chef’s knife to slice it in half lengthwise. Then place the cut side of the potato down onto your cutting board and cut it in half the long way again. Do this to both sides to get quarters.
Turn each potato quarter so the cut side is up and then slice down the center of each one to create wedges.
CAN YOU COOK FROZEN WEDGES IN AN AIR FRYER?
Frozen potato wedges are actually the best to use in the air fryer.
As they are frozen, it means that they don’t absorb any of the oil while cooking which allows for more crispiness and less oil.
All you have to do is place a layer of frozen wedges in the air fryer basket and spritz them with oil. Cook following the same directions listed on the recipe card.
